Author Visits

At Diss, we want to promote the love of reading and are always searching for amazing opportunities for our children, who rise to the occasion, writing some fantastic stories.

Steve Clifford has visited our schools to share in inspiring children with their writing. He talked through the process of writing and book. The children enjoyed the historical fiction series 'Walking with...' He set the children the challenge to write a build up of their own narrative creating tension, emotions from characters and mystery!

We have been fortunate to enjoy a visit from award winning author Nigel Lungenmuss-Ward. Nigel's message to the children was to dream big and this was not only evident through the message in his story but also by the fact that the book is illustrated by his 9 year old son Robbie. As well as sharing his story Freddie's Impossible Dream, Nigel worked with the children to write their own stories based on the character Crabby.
